Salah Times — Privacy Policy

Salah Times (“the extension”) is a browser extension that displays Islamic prayer times for your location, sends reminder notifications for each prayer, and shows a daily hadith. This policy explains exactly what data the extension handles.

What we collect

The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. It does not use accounts, analytics, advertising, cookies, or tracking of any kind.

Location

To calculate accurate prayer times, the extension needs an approximate location. You provide this in one of two ways:

• “Use my location” — with your permission, the browser provides your approximate latitude and longitude. This is used only to request prayer times and is stored only on your own device.
• Manual city entry — you type a city/country, which is used only to request prayer times.

Your coordinates or city are sent to the public Aladhan prayer-times API (https://api.aladhan.com) solely to retrieve the daily timetable for that location. No other information is sent with the request, and the data is not used to identify you. Aladhan's handling of requests is governed by its own terms; see https://aladhan.com.

What is stored, and where

All of your settings (location, calculation method, reminder preferences) and the day's cached prayer times are stored locally on your device using the browser's extension storage. Nothing is uploaded to us or to any server we control — we operate no server and have no database.

Permissions

• Geolocation — only when you tap “Use my location”.
• Notifications & Alarms — to remind you at prayer times.
• Storage — to save your settings on your device.
• Offscreen — to play a short chime sound.
• Access to api.aladhan.com — to fetch prayer times.

Data sharing & selling

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. The only network request the extension makes is to the Aladhan API, and only to provide the prayer-time functionality you requested.

Children

The extension is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “last updated” date.
